Thailand is a perfect honeymoon’ destination with its great weather year-round, beautiful beaches, and delicious foods. Couple’s will particularly enjoy the amazing resorts all around the country whether they prefer being in the mountains of Chiang Mai or by the beaches of the many islands. Another attractive aspect of resorts in Thailand is that they can often be more affordable than their counterparts in some other locations around the world.
Our favorite resort, and one that we would highly recommend for those on their honeymoon, would be the Crown Lanta Resort. Located on the more “chill” island of Koh Lanta, offering great accommodations at one of the most perfect locations, this resort offers a fantastic and memorable experience for couples.
The list of amenities and services at the Crown Lanta Resort is sure to impress guests. There is a resort pool as well as a lap pool, but you also have the option of diving in the water from their private beach as well as access to the public beach. Feeling like a cool down plunge after a day out in the tropical warmth? Well, you can pick from a lot of options!
There’s a spa for those that prefer a relaxing time, unwinding together. You can book your couples massage and just melt away the day on on your honeymoon. For those needing a little more activity, the resort also has a great fitness center but also offers free equipment for snorkeling and kayaking. It’s nice to have all of the options right there so you can choose depending on your mood for the day!
With two restaurants to pick from for dining, you’ll never feel like leaving the resort! Who would want to anyway when they are there to enjoy each other’s company and don’t want anything getting in the way of romance during their honeymoon?!
That being said, one of the most romantic offerings of this resort is their Reggae Bar. Located seaside, this bar is the place to be for the most gorgeous sunset in Thailand (in our opinion anyway!). Sip on drinks, talk about your future together, and stare in awe at the beautiful nature in front of you! The waves splashing gently with a fiery backdrop of sun and sky will make anyone feel the love!
Accommodations & Pricing
The Crown Lanta offers several different types of accommodations depending on your preference. The pool view and pool access rooms are the most popular for guests. If you wanted a more budget friendly room type, the garden view rooms would be the way to go. However, they do have villas as well as ocean view rooms. You really can’t go wrong with any of their room types!
The rates at this resort can vary depending on the time of year, but can be considered pretty budget friendly either way. During the slow season (June- September) you could expect to pay as little as $60 a night while prices can be over $200 a night during the busy season (October-January).
What You Can Do During Your Stay
Probably the most popular activity couples partake in is rising around and exploring the island on motorbike. It’s easy to rent a motorbike from the resort and just go wander for the day. Here are some spots to check out:
- Visit Khao Mai Kaew Cave
- Visit the Lighthouse in Mu Ko Lanta National Park
- See Khlong Jark Waterfall & the Bat Cave
If you prefer not to motorbike, you can book activities through the resort so that the transportation and arrangements are all taken care of for you. Here are some fun things to consider:
- Go Sea Kayaking and Explore Caves
- Book A 4 Island Day Trip Tour
- Take Thai Cooking Classes
- Visit Lanta Old Town on the eastern side and Saladan Pier in the north.
Why We Love Staying At Crown Lanta Resort
We have had the privilege of visiting Koh Lanta twice, experiencing both the “wet” and “dry” season there. Honestly, the island is breathtaking in either season. The only major difference would be in some of the activities you can partake in. In the rainy season, visitors will not be able to enjoy a lot of the water related things like boat trips and snorkeling, but you can still really enjoy the island. During the rainy season, the surroundings are filled with lush greenery.
The other upside is that there are less tourists visiting during this time so you can get the best deals on the resorts. Staying at the resort in June made us feel like we were the only ones there. We usually had the pools and the private beach all to ourselves!
The most memorable and romantic part of our trip and stay were the evenings we spent relaxing at the seaside bar under the bungalows, watching the sunsets!
