Texas doesn’t usually come to mind when one talks about vineyards. However, you will be missing out if you don’t taste some of the best wines ever made.
Housing over 50 wineries and vineyards, here are some of the top wineries in the Texas Hill Country.
With over 40 wineries in one region, it can get tricky to choose a spot for a unique wine-tasting experience. In case you are short on time, we have a few favorites to create a perfect Texas wine country.
Let’s start with Grape Creek Vineyards, housed in a cozy Italian Villa sprawling on the historic Main Street. Here you can try some of the most unique merchandise coupled with fun facts, silly jokes, and incredible service.
Next on our list is Signor Vineyards lying by the Pedernales River Valley where it connects to Grape Creek. They have a huge collection of award-winning wines and highly knowledgeable staff.
In Fredericksburg, you must also pay a visit to Messina Hof Hill Country one of the largest wineries with their own vineyard featuring Lenoir grapes and traditional style ports. If you have got time, make sure to check out Four Point Cellars, Lost Draw Cellars, Fiesta Vineyard & Winery, and Barons Creek Vineyards.
Marble Falls Wineries
While there are many wineries in Marble Falls, but about five wineries make up the Marble Falls wine trail; each of them offering a wide range of wines. Make sure to book an appointment as all of them require reservations.
At Perissos Vineyard and Winery, you can take a walk around the vineyard while you savor your drink. Spicewood Vineyards is tucked away in the hills where you will be greeted by a warm staff with amazing wine. At Stone House Vineyard, located on the south shore of Lake Travis, you will learn about quality winemaking and grape growing from Angela.
Sit down under a towering oak tree and make your comfortable to witness a stunning sunset as you gulp down an exotic drink. There is Wimberley Valley Winery boasting a picturesque setup with dozens of quality wines and vintages. Fall Creek Vineyard, found in the center of Driftwood, sprawls over a charming Hill Country estate with an envious collection of award-winning red and white wines. Dripping Springs Wineries
Wineries, distilleries, and breweries – You name it! They have everything ‘wine’ in Dripping Springs. While each winery offers a unique and memorable experience, we most enjoyed our trips to the following three wineries.
Bell Springs Winery has small-production wise that goes quite well with the scrumptious dishes prepared in their food truck. Duchman Winery has a superb selection of award-winning vintages that will surely make you come back. Then we have Solaro Estate that has a feisty combination of sparkling wine and live music.
Johnson City Wineries
Located in Blanco Count, Johnson City has a number of wineries and wine-tasting rooms. At 290 Winery, you will find a solid amalgamation of wine, juicy steaks, and live jazz music. Hahne Estates Winery not only lets you have a wonderful time at their winery, they also give you an eye-opening historic tour.
